We are LEAP, a community action agency in Fort Edward that serves all of Washington County NY. You may have heard of us by a different name in the past. We decided we needed to lead with a name that matches our purpose and values. When you think of LEAP, we want you to know that we spring to action and help individuals achieve new heights by providing professional employment resources and job seeker assistance.

The E in LEAP stands for employment. We believe that by creating access to resources, individuals have the opportunity to seek and secure employment, as well as build skills, strategies, and goals for a lifetime.

If you need help finding a job in Washington County, we’re here for you. Our counselors can help you craft the perfect cover letter and resume and can answer any questions you may have about which career option or path is right for you. If lack of access to technology is hindering your job search, don’t worry; LEAP has computers, a phone, fax machine, and copier you can use.

We also offer multiple employment services for youth and adults, including a Summer Youth Employment Program that helps teenagers find summer jobs in Washington County.

GED prep classes are available for Washington County residents as well. Youth who have not completed high school and are looking to get a high school equivalency diploma are welcome to take test prep classes twice a week at 68 Bay Road in Queensbury. GED classes for adults are given through BOCES at their Glens Falls and Saratoga locations.

We are committed to focusing on community and individual well-being through employment. If you are seeking opportunities to move forward in your job or career or if you have questions, we can help.
