Early Head Start Assistant Teacher
This position will maintain up-to-date educational records for each child including ongoing observation records
(anecdotal), assessments and progress reports, assist in supervising, provide ongoing training and evaluation of
the Teacher’s Aide, Substitutes and Volunteers, promote and support the program School Readiness goals and
the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) goals, develop individual and weekly activity plans, use
developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques, make home visits/parent contacts, integrate
the educational aspects of all Head Start areas into the daily educational program.
Salary: $14.60/hr.
35 hrs./wk. – 52 wks./yr.
Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood, or an Infant/Toddler CDA or equivalent
certification, and be trained in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler
development.
At least one year experience working with young children, preferably in an infant/toddler setting.
A valid driver’s license.
An understanding of young children and low- income families, and an appreciation of parents as
the primary educators of their children.
